Frederick "Fred" Planey, 75 of Bellaire, Ohio died unexpectedly Sunday, April 3, 2016.

He was born April 8, 1940 in Stewartsville, Ohio, a son of the late John Planey and Ella Raptosh Planey.

Fred was retired from International Harvester and Navistar. He was an active member of the Cave Club, Masonic Lodge, Eagles, Lansing Sportsman's Club, CSA, Elks, Moose, American Legion, and was an avid Cleveland Browns fan.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Paul and John Planey; infant sister, Rose Marie Planey.

Surviving are two daughters, Michele (Rich) Namlik of Neffs, Ohio, and Suzanne (Bill) Persinger of Shadyside, Ohio; four grandchildren, David Toland, Jake, Emily, and Julia Persinger; and his loving companion of many years, Suzie Nagy.

Family and friends will be received at Toothman Funeral Home in St. Clairsville on Wednesday from 1 p.m. until time of service at 7 p.m. with Pastor Larry Helms officiating.
