Obituary

Fred F. Kelley, 88 of Martins Ferry, Ohio died Saturday, March 12, 2016 at EORH in Martins Ferry.

He was born December 8, 1927 in Emerson, Ohio, a son of the late Franklin Kelley and Marie Snyder Kelley.

Fred was a retired employee from Gries Brothers manufacturing plant in Warwood, WV, a member of First Prebyterian Church in Martins Ferry, and a U.S. Army veteran.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Phyllis M. "Dee" Little Kelley; a son, Roger A. McConnaughy, Sr.; sisters, Ruth Applegarth, Mardell Barker, and Inez Saffell.

Surviving are a son, Larry (Hilde) McConnaughy of Bloomington, IN; a sister, Marjorie (Ray) Jenkins of Plant City, FL; a brother-in-law, Gerry Saffell of St. Clairsville; a daughter-in-law, Elaine McConnaughy of Martins Ferry; seven grandchildren, Brenda Tyler, Karen McConnaughy, Roger McConnaughy, Jr., Jason McConnaughy, Caitlan Capps, Sheanin McConnaughy, and Sheaghan McConnaughy; nine great grandchildren; a great great grandchild; several nieces and nephews; special neighbors, Tom and Katie Parrill; many friends, neighbors, and others who loved him.

He will be sadly missed by all, including those that frequently visited him while he was sitting on his porch swing.

Friends will be received at Toothman Funeral Home in St. Clairsville on Saturday from noon until time of memorial service at 1 p.m. with Rev. Ken Gifford officiating.

Burial follows in Glencoe Cemetery, Glencoe, Ohio.
