Frank E. Vigoffi, Sr., 86, of Fairpoint, Ohio died Tuesday, November 18, 2014 in Wheeling Hospital.
He was born August 10, 1928 in Triadelphia, WVa,, son of the late Savino and Myrtle Pettrey Vigoffi.
Frank was a retired employee from Consolidation Coal Company. He attended St. Joseph's Catholic Church; he was a U.S. Army Air Corps veteran serving in the Pacific during World War II; he was a member of the VFW Post 5356 in St. Clairsville, the Fairpoint Polish Club, the PNA Lodge 455 in Maynard and the United Mine Workers.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a four brothers, Paul Pettrey, Raymond Pettrey, Bob Pettrey and Herbert Thompson; three sisters, Freda Frakowski, Alice Vigoffi and Reba Thompson.
Surviving are his loving wife of 65 years, Rose Styrcula Vigoffi; two children, Frank E. Vigoffi Jr. of Flushing and Tina M. Vigoffi of Fairpoint; three grandchildren, John (Lynnette) Vigoffi, Amanda (Chad) Hunter and Ashley (Chris) Wines; four great grandchildren; three brothers, Donald (Loretta) Vigoffi, Harold (Lana) Vigoffi and George Pettrey; a sister, Yvonne (Jim) Fillon; many nieces and nephews; and a special dog, Minnie Pearl.
Family and friends will be received at Toothman Funeral Home in St. Clairsville on Friday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. where services will be held on Saturday at 10 a.m. with Father Thomas Graven officiating. Burial will follow in Union Cemetery, St. Clairsville.
Full Military Honors will be conducted on Saturday at 9:45 a.m. in the funeral home by the Belmont County VFW Honor Guard. PNA Services will be held on Friday at 4:45 p.m. in the funeral home.
