PICKENS, Frank Ronald, 79 of St. Clairsville, Ohio died Monday, November 15, 2010 in Wheeling Hospital.
He was born at Martins Ferry, Ohio on August 13, 1931, son of the late Frank A. and Mary Hornik Pickens.
He was a retired vice-president of sales from Tri-State Printing in Steubenville. Ron was a graduate of Bridgeport High School and a graduate of The Ohio State University. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. He was a member and elder of Calvary Presbyterian Church in St. Clairsville; was active in the YMCA in Elm Grove assisting with the day camps and other activities; and was a member of the Oglebay Woodcarvers Guild.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Paul "Buck" Timko.
Surviving are his loving wife of 58 years, Beverly Jones Pickens; son, Thomas G. (Karen) Pickens of St. Clairsville; a daughter, Sherry Pickens of San Francisco, California; 2 step grandchildren, Christopher Kopyar and Amy (Brian) Hinebaugh; a sister, Florene Timko of Lansing, Ohio; sister-in-law, Lenore Campbell of Wheeling, WVa; 3 nephews, Scott Nelson of Wheeling, Randy Timko of St. Clairsville and Kenny Timko of Bellaire; a niece, Perriann (Steve) Kawash of Charleston, WVa.
Family and friends will be received at Toothman Funeral Home in St. Clairsville on Thursday from 3 to 7 p.m.
Services will be held on Friday at 11 a.m. at Calvary Presbyterian Church in St. Clairsville, with Rev. Donna Kraus officiating.
