Frank J. "Pinky" Ludwig, 87, of St. Clairsville, Ohio died May 8, 2019 at his home.
He was born September 15, 1931 in Maynard, Ohio, a son of Joseph and Rose Sikora Ludwig.
Pinky was a retired carpenter from local # 3. He was a U.S. Navy and Army veteran of the Korean War and he was a member, elder and former Sunday School Superintendent of the Colerain Presbyterian Church. He was an organizer, member and former Chief of Maynard Community VFD and served on the first aid team at Hanna Coal Co.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Baker Ludwig; four brothers, John, Joe, Walter and Stanley Ludwig; three sisters, Mary Kowalczyk, Ann Day and Rose Yantz; and three grandchildren.
Surviving are two sons, Frank (Brenda) Ludwig Jr. and Mark (Lani) Ludwig; three daughters, Carol (Larry) Creech, Leslie Ludwig and Melissa Elswick; three sisters, Helen Klan, Liz Cavender and Alice Lachendro thirteen grandchildren; several great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will be received on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Toothman Funeral Home in St. Clairsville where services will be held on Monday at 1 p.m. with Pastor Joe Ellis officiating. Burial will follow in Holly Memorial Gardens, Pleasant Grove with Full Military Honors conducted by the Belmont County Veterans Association.
A Fire Department Service will be held on Sunday at 8 p.m. in the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to Colerain Presbyterian Church or Amedisys Hospice.
