Obituary

SLEVIN, Francis Robert "Doc", 89, of St. Clairsville, Ohio, died Wednesday, February 15, 2012 in Wheeling Hospital.

He was born in Temperanceville, Ohio on September 18, 1922, son of the late John and Stella Mayer Slevin.

Francis was the retired owner and operator of Slevin's Barber Shop in St. Clairsville. He was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran of World War II. He was a Catholic by faith; a member of the American Legion Post 159 and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5356 both in St. Clairsville.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Mabel L. Alderman Slevin; and a sister, Bernice Henne.

Surviving are two sons, Robert F. Slevin and his wife Susan of Maynard and John J. Slevin and his wife Shauna of Gilbert, Arizona; a daughter, Tracy Coulson and her husband Bill of Bridgeport; a brother, John "Jack" Slevin of St. Clairsville; nine grandchildren; and four great grandchildren.

Family and friends will be received at Toothman Funeral Home in St. Clairsville on Sunday from 1 p.m. until time of Full Military Honor Services at 3 p.m. conducted by the Belmont County Council of American Legions.
