Floyd E. Underwood, 79, of Key-Bellaire Rd., died Saturday, August 25, 2007 at Country Club Retirement Center, Bellaire.
He was born in Jacobsburg, Ohio in 1928, a son of the late George Washington "Leroy" Underwood and Mary Evelyn Underwood.
Floyd was a retired employee of the Ormet Corporation where he worked for 25 years. He was a former coal miner. He was a member of the Mt. Zion United Methodist Church and the Ormet Retirees.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, Arthur, Harold, Louis and Ralph Underwood; seven sisters, twins, Beatrice and Bernice Underwood; Edna Hines, Grace Saffell, Mary Homan, Alice Bumgardner and Ruth V. Johnson.
Floyd is survived by his wife Lila Mae Corbett Underwood; four sons, Donley and Dennis both of Boyd Ridge, Bellaire Randy of Jacobsburg and Rodney of Key Ridge, Bellaire; a brother, Robert of Delaware; a sister, Alberta Shaw of North Carolina; five grandchildren, Christopher "Don", Nathan "Brock", Amy, Randy Jr. and Josh.
Friends will be received at Toothman Funeral Home in Jacobsburg on Monday from 4 to 8 p.m., where services will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. with Rev. Nellie Millhouse and Charlie Hart officiating. Burial will follow in Holly Memorial Gardens, Pleasant Grove, Ohio.
