Obituary

Floyd G. Brown, age 67, of Shadyside, Ohio, died Sunday, February 5, 2006 at Wheeling Hospital in Wheeling. He was born February 23, 1938 in Powhatan Point, son of the late Samuel and Effie French Brown.

Floyd was a retired employee from the North American Coal Company, Powhatan # 3 Mine. He was a member of the Grandview Christian Church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Marge Baker; an infant sister; two brothers, Sam and Loren Brown.

He is survived by four children, Deanna (Starling) Boston of Armstrongs Mills, Mark (Julie) Brown, Steve Brown all of Shadyside and Teresa (Allen) Hartley of Triadelphia, West Virginia; his former wife, Katherine Brown; two brothers, Glenn Brown of Bridgeport and Lou Brown of California; three sisters, Ruby Leow Boetticher of Florida, Flossie Simonetti of Steinersville and Lou Ann Mattone of Woodsfield; ten grandchildren, seven great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will be received on Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Toothman Funeral Home in Jacobsburg, Ohio where services will be held on Thursday at 1 p.m., with Wayne Clark officiating. Burial will follow in Armstrong Cemetery, Armstrongs Mills, Ohio.
