Obituary
Evelyn M. Truax, 89, of St. Clairsville, Ohio died Friday, May 27, 2016 in East Ohio Regional Hospital, Martins Ferry.
She was born in Bellaire, Ohio on March 9, 1927, a daughter of the late Otto and Anna Branchik Sklenar.
Evelyn was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was an active member of Christ the King Lutheran Church and AARP. She was a 1945 graduate of Bellaire High School and a graduate of Wheeling College of Commerce.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her infant granddaughter Suzanne Polivka; a sister, Nancy (Norman) Sells and sister-in-law, Gladys Sklenar.
Surviving are her husband, Sommer Truax; three children, Donna Polivka of Spartanburg, South Carolina, David (Diane) Truax of St. Clairsville and Danny (Carol) Truax of Richmond, Ohio; two brothers, Richard Sklenar of Wintersville and William Sklenar of Columbus; four grandchildren, Kimberly (Kirk) Heath, Carl, James and Justin Polivka; and seven great grandchildren.
Family and friends will be received on Tuesday from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Toothman Funeral Home in St. Clairsville, where Services will be held on Wednesday at 11 a.m. Entombment will follow in Holly
Memorial Gardens, Pleasant Grove.
Memorial contributions may be made to Christ the King Lutheran Church.
