Scott, Eugene D., 85, of Bannock, Ohio, died Saturday, Feb. 27, 2010 at home.
He was born March 26, 1924 in Ward, West Virginia, son of the late Claude Tyree Scott and Ida Mae Adamson Scott.
Eugene was retired from Valley Machine in Martins Ferry and he was a barber. He was a member of Lloydsville United Methodist Church. Eugene was a U.S. Army Veteran serving in the Battle of the Bulge during World War II. He served in A Company 325th Glider Infantry Regiment and was trained in the 17th and 82nd Airborne Divisions. He was a member of the VFW Post 5356 and formerly a member of the American Legion Post 159 both in St. Clairsville.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 4 brothers, Paul, Charles, Edward and Farris Scott; and infant sister, Cleo.
Surviving are his wife, Stella Ainsworth Scott; a son, Eugene Scott and his wife Gena of Bannock; 2 granddaughters, Hannah and Elizabeth Scott; several nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will be received at Toothman Funeral Home in St. Clairsville on Tuesday from 11 a.m. until time of service at 1 p.m. with Rev. Gene Miller officiating. Burial will follow in Union Cemetery, St. Clairsville.
Full Military Honor Services will be conducted at 12:45 p.m. in the funeral home by the Belmont County Council of Veterans of Foreign Wars.
