THORNTON, Esther A., 93, of Bellaire, died Saturday, March 22, 2008 at Country Club Retirement Center.

She was born in Neffs, Ohio on June 5, 1914, a daughter of the late George and Elizabeth Yeager Reese.

Esther was a homemaker and a member of Mt. Zion United Methodist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Thornton; an infant son; a daughter, Betty Lou; several brothers and sisters.

She is survived by two sons, William (Nancy) Thornton Jr. of Wooster, Ohio and George M. "Buck" Thornton of Neffs; four daughters, Jean Howell, Nancy Fry and Judith Leiffer all of Bellaire and Linda Kay (James K.) Childers of Neffs; a sister, Martha Hitchcock of Moundsville, West Virginia; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received at the Toothman Funeral Home in Jacobsburg, Ohio on Tuesday from 2 to 8 p.m., where services will be held Wednesday at 10 a.m. with Pastor Nellie Millhouse officiating. Burial will follow in Glencoe Cemetery.
