Ernest J. Nagy, age 67, of Quaker City, OH, died Wednesday, May 21, 2003 at his home. He was born on July 21, 1935 in St. Clairsville, Ohio, son of the late Paul and Julia Kovach Nagy.
He was a retired farmer and retired employee from the Belmont County Board of MR/DD where he served for thirty years as Transportation Director, Workshop Director, Maintenance Director and Camp Presmont Director. Ernest was a member of the Calvary Presbyterian Church at St. Clairsville; he enjoyed hunting, gardening, camping, the outdoors and fishing with his grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Paul Nagy, Jr.; and two sisters, Margaret Albert and Barbara Kanotz.
Surviving are his wife, Barbara Berisford Nagy; children, Jeff (Kathy) Nagy of Charleston, SC, Anna Nagy of Urbana, OH, Dave (Becky) Horne, Jr. of Martins Ferry, OH, Bonnie (Chris) Colbert of Charleston, SC, Gail (Rob) Mann of Barton, OH, Scott (Melissa) Horne of St. Clairsville, OH, Brian (Dottie) Nagy of Jewett, OH and Brian (Teasha) Horne of Centerville, OH; two brothers, Steve (Mary) Nagy of St. Clairsville, OH and Frank Nagy of St. Clairsville; three sisters, Julia (John) Maine of Weirton, WV, Charlotte (Steve) Kovach of Alledonia, OH and Elizabeth (Joe) Bodollo of Akron, OH; thirteen grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will be received at Toothman Funeral Home, St. Clairsville, on Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m., on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and on Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until time of services at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Robert Nagy officiating. Burial will follow at Holly Memorial Gardens, Pleasant Grove, Ohio.
