Kocher, Emmett W. "Pete", Jr., 83 of Dover Ridge Rd., Powhatan Point, Ohio died Sunday, October 31, 2010 at Belmont Community Hospital in Bellaire.

He was born May 5, 1927 in Armstrongs Mills, Ohio, a son of the late, Emmett Kocher, Sr. and Maude Haught Kocher.

Pete retired from the Belmont County Road Crew and he also retired as York Township Road Foreman.

Surviving are his wife of 60 years, Helen Jane Bennett Kocher; three children, Danny (Patty) Kocher of Jacobsburg, Byron (Cathy) Kocher of Powhatan Point, and Christine Stack of Powhatan Point; 6 grandchildren, Chad (Stacy) Kocher of Warwood, Kevin Kocher of Maryland, Michael Stack of Toledo, Jason (Ashley) Kocher of Moundsville, Cassie (Jody) Nichols of Adena, and Russell (Rachael) Kocher of Colerain; 6 great grandchildren, Kohlton, Kaitlyn, Anderson, Isis, Mason, & Addison; 4 sisters, Patty McNear of Powhatan Point, Judy Wilcox and Becky Karge of Pennsylvania, and Virginia McCann of Texas; 1 brother, Robert Kocher of Pennsylvania.

Friends will be received at Toothman Funeral Home in Jacobsburg on Tuesday from 1 to 9 p.m. where services will be held on Wednesday at 11 a.m. with Rev. Wayne Clark officiating. Burial follows in Powhatan Cemetery.
