Obituary

Emma Phylis Greenwood, 95, of Howard, Ohio, formerly of St. Clairsville, died October 9, 2023, in Brookdale Senior Living, Mt. Vernon, Ohio.

She was born February 23, 1928, in Meadville, Pennsylvania, a daughter of the late Roscoe and Ada Allen Snedeker. Emma's father died when she was in her adolescent years, with her mother expecting a child, she went to live with her uncle and aunt, Howard and Marie Snedeker in Bellaire, Ohio.

Emma was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was a former member of Calvary Presbyterian Church.

In addition to her parents, and her aunt and uncle who helped to raise her, she was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Donald F. Greenwood; and two brothers, Howard and Robert.

Emma is survived by her children, Thomas (Jane) Greenwood, David Greenwood, Richard (Gloria) Greenwood, and Susan Greenwood; a brother, Ross (Mariam) Snedeker; seven grandchildren, Kevin Greenwood, Katie (Ted) White, Zack Greenwood, George (Meredith) Schwindt, Gary (Mikal) Schwindt and Gwyn (Dr. Bob) Dalton, and Geri (Paul Michael) Paniccia; several great grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will be received at the Toothman Funeral Home in St. Clairsville on Saturday, October 21st from 10 a.m. until time of memorial service at 11 a.m. with Rev. Erica Harley officiating. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family at Holly Memorial Gardens in Pleasant Grove.
