Elvera Rose Yanik, 88 of St. Clairsville, Ohio died Monday, November 7, 2016 at Bishop Hodges Continuous Care Center in Wheeling, WV.
She was born October 25, 1928 in Benwood, WV, a daughter of the late James Cerra and Angela Chieffallo Cerra.
Elvera was a loving wife and mother and a wonderful grandmother. She was a former telephone operator, former employee of Wheeling Jesuit University, a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in St. Clairsville and the Catholic Women's Club.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Regina Hajdin; 4 brothers, and 2 sisters.
Surviving are her husband, Andrew "Andy" Yanik, Sr.; a son, Andrew "AJ" Yanik, Jr. of Wheeling, WV; three grandchildren, Christine and Michael Hajdin, and Nicole Yanik.
Friends will be received at Toothman Funeral Home in St. Clairsville on Thursday from 2 to 4 & 6 to 8 p.m.
A Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be celebrated on Friday at 10 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church in St. Clairsville with Fr. Thomas Chillog the celebrant. Burial follows in Union Cemetery, St. Clairsville.
A vigil service will be held at 6 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home.
