Elva L. Monroe, age 82, of Jacobsburg, Ohio, died Saturday, February 5, 2005 at Barnesville Hospital, Barnesville, Ohio.
She was born on July 20, 1922 at Huntington, West Virginia, daughter of the late Stanton and Neva Adkins Miller.
Elva was a mother, grandmother and homemaker.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin Leroy Monroe Sr. and two brothers, Howard Miller and Taylor Bud Miller.
Surviving are her son, Mel (Jaime) Monroe Jr. of Powhatan Point; her four daughters, Marleen (Doug) Lightner of Jacobsburg, Gail Davis and Jack of Follansbee, West Virginia, Patty (Skip) Terry and Judy (Gary) Holt all of Springfield, Ohio; two brothers, Ernie Miller and Bill Miller both of Springfield, Ohio; two sisters, Nellie Dyer and Bessie Potts both of Springfield, Ohio; 12 grandchildren and many great grandchildren.
Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in Enon Cemetery, Enon, Ohio. Arrangements by Toothman Funeral Home in Jacobsburg.
