Elizabeth Lee Iddings, 87 of St. Clairsville, Ohio died Sunday, December 20, 2015 at Barnesville Hospital, Barnesville, Ohio.

Elizabeth was born in St. Clairsville, Ohio on September 5, 1928, the daughter of the late Joseph Edmund Iddings and Sara Virginia Sandrock Iddings.

She retired as a Captain from the U.S. Public Health Service, Commission Corps working primarily in Indian Health, serving her last eight years in Anadarko Indian Health Center. Elizabeth served in the nursing field for many years. She was a member of the Commissioned Officers Association, and she served in Southern Rhodesia, Africa in a mission clinic with the Christian Church for over three years. She was a member of East Richland Evangelical Friends Church.

Elizabeth was a graduate of Ohio State University with a Bachelors Degree in Nursing, she graduated from Frontier Nursing Service School of Midwifery in Hyden, Kentucky, and she was a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh's Graduate School of Public Health with a Masters Degree in Hygiene.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a stepmother, Margaret Gummere Iddings; a nephew, Joseph Piersol; a niece, Stephanie Medley; and a great nephew, Jason Medley.

Surviving are her stepmother, L. Elizabeth Iddings of Wheeling, West Virginia; a sister, Karen Jane Iddings Piersol and her husband John of Barnesville, Ohio; a nephew-in-law, Edward Medley; a niece-in-law, Lisa Piersol Howiler and her husband Michael; 2 great nieces; 2 great nephews; 2 great great nieces; and a great great nephew.

Family and friends will be received on Saturday, December 26, 2015 at Toothman Funeral Home in St. Clairsville from 2 to 5 p.m. where services will be held on Sunday at 1 p.m. with Rev. Jerry Wenger officiating.

Burial will be at Union Cemetery, St. Clairsville.
