Elizabeth Ann Diaz, 58 of Belmont, Ohio died Tuesday, August 16, 2016 at her home.

She was born August 6, 1958 in New Martinsville, WV, a daughter of Anna May Potts Bonnett and the late Dale Thomas Bonnett, Sr.

Elizabeth was a retired school teacher from Union Local Schools, a member of Belmont United Methodist Church where she served as Sunday School Teacher, Youth Group Advisor, and East Ohio Annual Conference participant; she was a member of Order of Eastern Star Bethesda Chapter.

She loved teaching and cared deeply about her students and former students, she unofficially adopted and tutored many of them.

Surviving in addition to her mother of Belmont; are a daughter, Jessica May Diaz of Belmont; a sister, Martha Lee Hester of Columbus, OH; a brother, Dale Thomas (Chris) Bonnett II of Belmont; nieces, Leeanne (Jimmy) Mako, Lindsay Hester, and Sarah Bonnett.

Friends will be received at Toothman Funeral Home in St. Clairsville on Friday from 3 to 8 p.m. and on Saturday from 11 a.m. until time of service at 1 p.m. with Pastor Dan Purdom, Rev. Theresa Bobot, and Rev. Charles Tobias officiating.

Burial follows in Belmont Cemetery.
