Eleanor Diane Criss Underwood, 79, of Willow Grove Rd., Bellaire, OH died September 10, 2021 in Wheeling Hospital.

She was born May 22, 1942 in Parkersburg, WV, a daughter of the late John Coutz and Mary Elizabeth Criss Coutz.

Diane was retired from St. Clairsville Richland City Schools having drove school bus for 33 years and worked in the cafeteria for 18 years, and she was former local president of OAPSE. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Bethlehem, WV. She enjoyed gardening and bird watching.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Tobias "Toby" Underwood; two sisters, Cathy Roby and Sharon Craig; and a brother, Robert Coutz.

Diane is survived by her husband Perley "Ed" Underwood Jr.; three children, Perley "Lee" (Lorna) Underwood III, David (Susan) Underwood and Tammy (John) Underwood; a daughter-in-law, Beth Underwood; a brother, John Coutz Jr.; nine grandchildren, Brooke Blon, Alyssa Clay, Ryan Archer, Brett, Brittany, Macey, Alexa, Abigail, Alaina Underwood; eight great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will be received at Toothman Funeral Home in St. Clairsville, Ohio on Tuesday from Noon until time of funeral service at 2 p.m.  Burial will follow in Mt. Zion Cemetery.
