Eleanor Maxine Gillespie, 83 of Belmont, Ohio formerly of Jacobsburg died Friday, March 30, 2018 at her home.

She was born February 17, 1935 in Jacobsburg, a daughter of the late Leland W. Bovenizer and Bertha Eliza Groves Bovenizer.

Eleanor was a retired elementary school teacher for Union Local Schools with 30 years of service, a member, organist and pianist of Jacobsburg United Methodist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by infant brothers, Leland Sylvan and Leland Wayne Bovenizer.

Surviving are her husband, Robert L. Gillespie; brothers and sister, Eldrid R. "Bob" Bovenizer of St. Clairsville, Roalene Kemp of Belmont, and Ronald E. Bovenizer of West Palm Beach, FL; many nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received at Toothman Funeral Home in Jacobsburg on Wednesday from 4 to 7 p.m. where services will be held on Thursday at 1 p.m. with Pastor Rusty Atkinson officiating.  Burial follows in Jacobsburg Cemetery.
