E. Eileen Hess, age 75, of Jacobsburg, died Friday, June 4, 2004 at Shadyside Care Center, Shadyside. She was born May 27, 1929 at Powhatan Point, Ohio, daughter of the late Emmett and Estella Junkins Palmer.

She was a retired nurses aide from Shadyside Care Center and a member of Jacobsburg United Methodist Church.

In addition to her parents, Eileen was preceded in death her husband, Vernard Lee Hess; two sisters, Jean Hess and Velma Bischof; and three brothers, Leslie, Harold and Kenneth Palmer.

Surviving are two daughters, Joyce Brocklehurst of Shadyside and Carolyn Cook of Bellaire; two sons, Terry Hess of Powhatan Point and Charles Hess of Jacobsburg; a sister, Inez Abrigg of Clarington; seven grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

Family and friends will be received on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Toothman Funeral Home in Jacobsburg, where services will be held on Monday, June 7, 2004 at 11 a.m., with Rev. Bob Phillips officiating. Burial will follow at Powhatan Cemetery, Powhatan Point, Ohio.
