Thompson, Edwin A., 82, of St. Clairsville, Ohio, died May 21, 2009 at Beckett House in New Concord, Ohio.

He was born September 19, 1926 in Rochester, Pennsylvania, son of the late Paul G. and Lenore Arnold Thompson.

Edwin was a retired architectural hardware consultant. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church in St. Clairsville; he was a member and Past Master of John A. Brashear Lodge # 743 F. & A.M. in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and he served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Janet L. Murray Thompson.

Surviving are a son, Scott (Linnea) Thompson of New Concord, Ohio; a daughter, Kendall (Russell) Ratcliff of Helena, Montana; six grandchildren, Lisa, Amanda and Evie Thompson, Erin, Anita and Jeana Ratcliff; a brother, Paul Arnold Thompson of Florida; and a sister, Audrey Marston of Florida.

Family and friends will be received at Toothman Funeral Home in St. Clairsville on Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. where services will be held on Wednesday at 11 a.m. with Rev. Homer Harden officiating.

Masonic Services will be conducted on Tuesday at 6 p.m. in the funeral home by Belmont Lodge # 16 F. & A.M.
