Edward W. Trudo Sr., 86, of St. Clairsville, passed away September 25, 2014 at Ohio Valley Medical Center in Wheeling WV.
He was born May 28, 1928 in Bloomingdale, Ohio, son of the late Francesco "Frank" and Maria "Edamae" (Palumbo) Trudo.
Ed was preceded in death by his brothers, Dominic, Anthony, and Arthur, and a sister Edamae Valenti.
He graduated from Warren Consolidated High School (Tiltonsville) in 1945. He served in the US Navy aboard the USS Albany as a Fire Control Specialist. He was a bricklayer by trade, working around the world. He retired from Ormet Corporation. He served as President of Bricklayers Local Steubenville, was a member of the Bellaire Bricklayers Local. Was a Life Member of Tiltonsville VFD. He served as President of the Saints Club Boosters in St. Clairsville, was a member of American Legion Post 159 and Knights of Columbus Council St. Mary's Church, St. Clairsville.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Betty (Renat) Trudo, sons Dr. Edward (Kathleen) Trudo Jr. of Charleston SC, Daren Trudo of the home, and Glenn (Staci) Trudo of St. Clairsville. Grandchildren David Trudo of New York, NY, Megan Trudo of Savannah Georgia, Garrett Trudo and Sydni Trudo of St. Clairsville, and several nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his loving dog Tipper.
Friends will be received at Toothman's Funeral Home in St. Clairsville Sunday from 4pm to 8pm and Monday 9am to 10am. Knights of Columbus Services will be held Sunday at 6pm and Tiltonsville VFD Services will be held at Sunday at 7pm. American Legion services will be held Monday at 9:30am.
Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be held on Monday at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph Church in Tiltonsville with Monsignor George Coyne the celebrant, followed by burial at Upland Heights Cemetery Yorkville.
