Earl Henry Brooks, 64, of Jacobsburg, Ohio died Monday, April 23, 2018 in Wheeling Hospital.
He was born April 16, 1954 in Bellaire, Ohio son of the late Lawrence Brooks and Ellen E. "Betty" Brunner Brooks.
Earl was a retired coal miner from Ohio Valley Coal #6 Mine in Alledonia. He was a member of the True Sportsman's Club and the U.M.W.A. Local #1810. He enjoyed time with his grandsons and working on cars, especially his Chevelle.
In addition to his parents, Earl was preceded in death by two brothers, Virgil and Donald; a sister, Darlene and a grandson, Tyler Cordery.
Surviving are his loving wife of 43 years, Janice "Pie" Kinney Brooks; two daughters, Anna, and Becky (Jubba) Majors both of Jacobsburg; three grandsons, Blake Cordery, Wyatt Majors and Walker Majors; a brother, Eddie (Madelyn) Brooks of Powhatan Point; three sisters, Nancy Graham of Jacobsburg, Mary (Sammy) Baker of Powhatan Point and Delores (Levi) Haslam of Clarington; nieces, nephews, uncles and cousins.
Family and friends will be received on Thursday from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Toothman Funeral Home in Jacobsburg, Ohio where services will be held on Friday at 11 a.m. with Rev. Bill Coker officiating. Burial will follow in Armstrong Cemetery, Armstrongs Mills.
In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer memorial contributions be made to Smith Township Volunteer Fire Dept., C/O: 49359 O.R. & W. Station Rd., Jacobsburg, OH 43933.
