IN LOVING MEMORY OF
E. George
Miller
March 5, 1929 – October 14, 2025
George Miller, age 96 of Bellaire, Ohio, passed away peacefully Tuesday October 14th with family by his side. He spent his last days at home surrounded by family and spent Tuesday at Liza's Place Hospice.
He was born at home on March 5th, 1929 in Carrollton Ohio to Bruce and Vivian (Toole) Miller.
He quit school to work to help support his mother and younger siblings. As a young man, he worked putting up power lines etc. He then worked at the Conalco plant in Hannibal, Ohio, and took early retirement. At the same time and later, he and his wife ran Miller's Used Farm Equipment. George was always working on farm and other equipment, even at age 96. He spent more time outside than inside. Since the 1970's he would go to Canada one or more times a year to camp and fish in a place that was a few hours from the nearest town. This was probably his favorite hobby. He was able to continue this into his late 80s.
He also enjoyed NASCAR races (even attended a few), watching football, hunting, and being a vendor at flea markets. He was always working on tractors and other equipment. He could do just about anything he set his mind to.
George met Beulah Palmer in the mid 1940's. He was not old enough to marry so he changed his age on the paperwork. They were blessed with 50 years of marriage and had four children and later four grandchildren. They built a home on Trough Run in the mid 1960's and never moved again.
George was again blessed by marriage with Glenna Stevens for 27 years. We are so grateful that he spent the last decades of his life with a loving companion. She stayed by his side in health and in sickness and made possible his wish to stay in his home in his later years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his beloved wife Beulah, his daughter Terrie (J. Patrick) Conroy, his brothers Alistair, Bill, and Bob, and his sister Darlene (Jim) McCarty.
He is survived by his beloved wife Glenna; his children and their spouses who he considered his children also, George L. and Gina Miller of Bellaire, Hunter and Maricel Miller of Jacobsburg, and Stacey and Dr. Wendy Sparling of Galena; stepchildren Shawna (Glen) Clark, Carrie (J. D.) Wilhelm, and Stephen (Jamie) Stevens; his grandchildren, Dr. Beulah T. (Brain Hannan) Miller, Liliana Miller-Sparling, Hunter Trace Miller, Mace Forrest Miller, and also Nathaniel Wilhelm, Isaiah Wilhelm, Stephen Clark, Alexander Wilhelm, and Zoe Clark; and his youngest brother Sammy (Barbara) Miller of Burkburnett, TX. He also has many, many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews.
Family and Friends will be received on Friday from 3 PM to 7 PM at the Toothman Funeral Home in Jacobsburg, Ohio. Services will be held there on Saturday at 2 PM with pastor David Conklin officiating. Then graveside service at the Miller Family Cemetery at his farm outside of Bellaire, Ohio.
There will be time during the service for anyone to briefly share memories of George.
