Edith Gertrude Martin, 87, of Jacobsburg, Ohio died Wednesday, October 21, 2015 at East Ohio Regional Hospital in Martins Ferry.
She was born October 28, 1927 in Shadyside, Ohio, a daughter of the late William Earl Hines Sr. and Della Florence Parker Hines.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Neffs United Methodist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Earnest Martin Sr.; two brothers, Donald and William "Bill" Hines Jr.
Surviving are her three children, Dianna (Chuck) Moskey of St. Clairsville, Dexter (Rosy) Martin of Jacobsburg and Ernie (Ruthie) Martin Jr. of Belmont; four sisters, Doris Ashcroft of Florida, Sylvia Passmore of North Carolina, Lucille Regoli and Mary Weekley both of Bellaire; two brothers, Phillip "Bud" Hines of Quaker City and Gary Hines of Florida; 8 grandchildren, Amy (Scott) St. Clair, Tami Pitcher, Lisa (Ryan) Clark, Kayla (Rob) Kramer, Tracy (Alan) Amos, Joby Martin, April (Chris) Frederick and Jamie Martin; and 12 great grandchildren, Alexis and Alec St. Clair, Madison and Morgan Pitcher, Taylor and Zachary Clark, Justin and Brooke Amos, Myah Martin, Alexa Frederick, Payton and Presley Kramer.
Family and friends will be received at Toothman Funeral Home in Jacobsburg on Saturday from 12 p.m. until time of service at 2 p.m. with Rev. Phillip Hines officiating. Burial will follow in Jacobsburg Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to East Richland Evangelical Friends Church.
