E. Edmond "Ed" Kaptein, 86 of Dublin, Ohio died Tuesday, January 9, 2007 at Riverside Hospital in Columbus.
He was born June 14, 1920 in Madison, Ohio, a son of the late Gustav Kaptein and Marie Puskat Kaptein.
Ed was a retired store manager for Sears, Roebuck & Co., a Lutheran by faith, a Navy veteran of WWII and Pearl Harbor survivor, a graduate of Rollins College in Winter Park, Florida, former Kiwanis Club president, Germania club member, Columbus Maennerchar member, an avid golfer and member of the Heritage Golf Club in Columbus.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Arthur & Gus Kaptein; a sister, Lillian Puskat.
Surviving are his wife, Mary A. Kinzy Kaptein; a son, Edmond Forrest Kaptein of Dublin; brother Harold (Agnes) Kaptein of Brooklyn, Ohio; sisters, Marlene Krieger of Valley City, Ohio and Trudy Booth of New Kensington, Pennsylvania; sisters-in-law, Valta Giffin of St. Clairsville, Ohio, Ann (Charles) Couch of Sandusky, Ohio, Wilma Kinzy of North Ridgeville, Ohio; brother-in-law, Harold (Emma) Kinzy of Berea, Ohio; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Friends and family are invited to attend a committal service on Friday at 11 a.m. in Holly Memorial Garden?s chapel in Pleasant Grove, Ohio.
