Douglas Lynn "Doug" Reed, 60, of Belmont, Ohio, died Saturday, June 29, 2024, at his home.

He was born December 10, 1963, in Barnesville, Ohio, a son of the late Alice Virginia Moore.

Douglas lived with his foster parents, the late Mr. & Mrs. Reed for 14 years and at the age of 20, he moved back in with his mother, Alice "Sissy" Moore, due to his foster parents' declining health.

Doug's friend Tracey looked out for his best interest and welfare and helped him to make important decisions in his life. Doug lived with a group of friends in a group home setting. His health changed and he moved into the Pineview 1a group home in Belmont, Ohio.

Doug was known to enjoy the outdoors. He talked about hunting and fishing and enjoyed a cold beer. He was a Cleveland Brown's fan and enjoyed watching games with his rival sports fans. He loved doughnuts and other sweets. Doug had his way of letting others know his mood and what he liked. He will be missed by his Pineview 1a family.

In addition to his mother and foster parents, he was preceded in death by his grandparents, Frank Wesley Moore and Fern Moore; aunt and uncle, Dora Lee and Elmer Marmie; and cousins, Scott Allen Pittman, Sheila Marie Jones and Joseph Marmie.

Doug is survived by his aunt and uncle, Nora Mae and Ronald Pittman; his cousins, Brian Keith and Donna Marmie, Amber and Chris Burghy and Layton Newlen.

Family and friends will be received at Toothman Funeral Home in St. Clairsville, Ohio on Tuesday, July 9, 2024, from 10 a.m. until time of service at 1 p.m. with Wayne Clark officiating. Burial will be in Belmont Ridge Cemetery, Beallsville, Ohio.
