Dorothy J. Murphy, age 78, of Flushing, Ohio died Wednesday, May 11, 2005 at Wheeling Hospital.

She was born on August 16, 1926 in Egypt Valley, Ohio, daughter of the late Earl and Hazel Williamson Groves.

Dorothy was a member of Flushing United Methodist Church, the United Methodist Women and the Flushing Garden Club.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Dale Murphy; and two brothers, Charles and Bernard Groves.

Surviving are her daughter, Marilyn (Albert) Turley of Uniontown; two sons, Paul (Donna) Murphy of Flushing and Allen (MeLisa) Murphy of Lexington, Ohio; a sister, Martha Stewart of St. Clairsville; a brother, Russell Groves of St. Clairsville; seven grandchildren, Susan Withrow, Jennifer Perkins, Debbie Turley, Brian Murphy, Daniel Murphy, Kari Murphy, Carolann Murphy; and six great grandchildren.

Family and friends will be received on Friday from 3 to 8 p.m. at Toothman Funeral Home in St. Clairsville, where services will be held on Saturday at 11 a.m., with Rev. Ken Kelley officiating. Burial will follow in Holly Memorial Gardens, Pleasant Grove, Ohio.
