Donald Duane Tipton, 87 of Flushing, Ohio died Wednesday, July 15, 2015 at Park Health Center in St. Clairsville.
He was born July 11, 1928 in Holloway, Ohio, a son of the late John Tipton and Lulu Balentine Tipton.
He was a retired employee of GTE, a member of the former St. Paul Catholic Church in Flushing, Catholic Men's Club, and a U.S. Navy Veteran.
Don was an avid Cleveland Browns and Indians fan as well an OSU Buckeye fan.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth Julia DePietro Tipton; brothers, Charles and Harold Tipton; sisters, Margaret Betts, Mary Catherine Patako, and Vivian Barni.
Surviving are five daughters, Sheila (William Dawe) Tipton of Des Moines, Iowa, Brenda (Todd) Koegler of Wheeling, WV., Bonita (Fred) Thompson of Bellaire, Anita (Terry) Wallace of St. Clairsville, and Lori (Bruce) Smith of Mountville, PA; 13 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
Friends will be received at Toothman Funeral Home in St. Clairsville on Sunday from 4 to 8 p.m. where services will be held on Monday at 11 a.m. with Father Frederick Kihm officiating. Burial follows in Rock Hill Cemetery, Flushing.
