Donald Lee "Don" Stephens, 81, of St. Clairsville, Ohio died peacefully at his home May 13, 2021.

He was born February 5, 1940 in Wheeling, West Virginia, a son of the late Chester and Helen Stephens.

Don was a loving, caring husband, father, father-in-law, papaw, and great grandpa.

He is a retired Ohio State Highway Patrolman, with 32 years of service and was a member of the U.S. Army Reserves.  He also served as a Richland Township Trustee for ten years. Don was a faithful, lifetime member of the East Richland Friends Church and was 1959 graduate of St. Clairsville High School.

Don really enjoyed working on his family farm, attending the multiple sporting events and concerts of his grandchildren, and just always being surrounded by his family.

In addition to his parents, Don was preceded in death by his daughter, Janet Bohus; a brother, Chester "Ned" Stephens; and his stepmother, Zelma Stephens.

Don is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Sandy Elson Stephens; two sons, Jeff and Jay (Lorry) Stephens; a daughter, Jodi (Shawn) Vincent; a son-in-law, Dave Bohus; 10 grandchildren, Aaron (Micaela), Kelsey (Trent), Jasmine, Summer, Devon, Chase, Jordan, Kassidy, Josie, and Emerae; ten great grandchildren, Izaac, Tyler, Grayson, Brylee, Ivy, Luke, Savannah, Ethan, Kyle, and Hailie; a brother, Jack (Sue) Stephens; a sister, Vera Stephens; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at Toothman Funeral Home in St. Clairsville, where visitation will be held again on Wednesday from 12 p.m. until time of service at 1 p.m. with Rev. Dr. Jerry Wenger officiating. Burial will follow in Warnock Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Cumberland Trail Fire Department or the Ickes Life Center, C/O: East Richland Friends Church.
