Donald Eugene “Porter” “Slim” Myers, 86, of St. Clairsville, Ohio, died April 14, 2026, in Liza’s Place, Wheeling. He was born in Bellaire, Ohio, on August 5, 1939, a son of the late Cyrus Albert Myers and Madge Pauline Lehew Moore and his stepfather, Emil Cherbuliez.
Don was raised in New Martinsville, WV, by his late grandparents, Lena May and Clarence Roscoe Lehew. He was a U.S. Army veteran and worked from the Laborer’s Local #1149 in Wheeling. Slim was a Presbyterian by faith and a member of Neffs American Legion Post #77.
In addition to his parents and grandparents, he was preceded in death by a son, Timothy Charles Bell, a brother, Robert Myers and a sister, Shirley Weaver.
Don is survived by his wife, Norma Jean Funkhouser Myers; five children, Kim (Delbert) Sexton, Audrey (Greg) Sabo, Dawn Marie (David) Myers, Melissa (Danny) Myers and Donald (Victoria) Myers Jr.; a sister, Nancy Fitzgerald; many grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; nieces, nephews, friends and his favorite dog, Rocky.
He will forever be loved and missed.
Family and friends will be received for a memorial visitation on Sunday, April 26, 2026, at the Toothman Funeral Home in St. Clairsville from 2 p.m. until time of Military Honors at 3 p.m., conducted by the Belmont County Veterans Association.
There will be a celebration of life at the Neffs American Legion from 5 to 8 p.m.
