Richard F. "Dick" Bowery, 77 of St. Clairsville, Ohio died Sunday, March 19, 2006 at Wheeling Hospital.

He was born at Wheeling on October 2, 1928 a son of the late Ira Cecil Bowery and Marjorie O'Hara Bowery Williams.

Dick was retired owner/operator of the former Island Sheet Metal and Roofing Co. at Wheeling. He was a member of Calvary Presbyterian Church, St. Clairsville and VFW Post 5356, St. Clairsville. He was a Marine Corps veteran of the Korean War and the former commanding officer of the U.S. Coast Guard at Wheeling Island. Dick was the holder of a private pilot license and was an avid fisherman.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Betty E. Bowery and a brother William Bowery.

He is survived by his daughters Cindy Pearcy and Linda Frazier both of Shadyside; grandchildren Crystal Pearcy and Candace Pearcy both of Shadyside and Timothy Frazier of St. Clairsville; brothers John Bowery of Washington, DC, Robert Bowery of Cincinnati, David Bowery of Maysville, KY and Thomas Bowery of New Port Richey, FL.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. at the Toothman Funeral Home, St. Clairsville where services will be held Wednesday at Noon with Rev. Ronald Wilfong officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery, Wheeling.

Belmont Co. Council of the VFW will conduct military honors in the funeral home Wednesday at 11:45 a.m.
