David Nelson Wolfe, 71, of St. Clairsville, Ohio passed on Sunday, October 11, 2015 at Wheeling Hospital.

He was born November 8, 1943 in Morgantown, WV to Loraine Wolfe and the late Herbert Wolfe.

David was a 1961 graduate of Masontown High School. He became employed with the Mine, Safety, and Health Administration in June of 1971 as a Federal Coal Mine Inspector until he retired in January of 2003. He was very active with the mine rescue team as a participant and judge.

He was a member of Weyer Lodge No. 541 F. & A.M. in Centerville and Past Master of the former Belmont Lodge No. 16 F. & A.M. in St. Clairsville.

Surviving in addition to his mother of Masontown, WV are his wife of 52 years, Barbara whom he married on June 29, 1963; a daughter, Tammy Wolfe of Steubenville, OH; sons, David (Rhonda Mayhugh) Wolfe and Steven (Farrah) Wolfe both of St. Clairsville; a sister, Sandi (Roy) Gibson of Masontown, WV; grandchildren, Kaytlyn (Chris) Parsons and Gage Wolfe of St. Clairsville; great grandchildren, Cassidy and Colton Parsons; several nieces and nephews.

David was an avid old car enthusiast, coin and gun collector, and he enjoyed going to flea markets. But most of all, he loved watching his grandson, Gage, play baseball, flag football, and basketball, playing with his great grandchildren, and spending time with his family.

Friends will be received at Toothman Funeral Home in St. Clairsville, Ohio on Thursday from 4 p.m. until time of Masonic service at 7:30 p.m.
