Obituary

Elerick, David James, 70, of Powhatan Point, Ohio died peacefully on Thursday, March 14, 2013 while surrounded by his family at Liza's Place in Wheeling, WV.

He was born October 20, 1942 in Powhatan Point, a son of the late Henry Elerick and Rose Cordery Elerick Roth.

He was a retired coal miner and carpenter formerly employed by North American Coal Co. and Harrison Mining, and a U.S. Army veteran.

He enjoyed watching NASCAR with his grandson and spending time with his granddaughters.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Shelby Rose Seita.

Surviving are his loving wife of 44 years, Darlene West Elerick; three children, Kirt Elerick, Kari Merryman and her fiancée Gary Baker, and Kristi Duncan and her husband Kenneth all of Powhatan Point; five grandchildren, Dylan Merryman, Shayla Merryman, Kamdyn Elerick, Kierstyn Elerick, and Kailyn Elerick.

Friends will be received at the Powhatan Cemetery Chapel on Monday from 10 a.m. until time of service at 1 p.m. with Dale Ingold officiating. Burial will follow.
