Bumgardner, David A., 35, of Centerville, Ohio, died Saturday, September 15, 2007 at East Ohio Regional Hospital in Martins Ferry as the result of an automobile accident.
He was born October 15, 1971 in Bellaire, Ohio, son of Joyce Reed Bumgardner Johnston and the late William E. Bumgardner Sr.
David was the former owner and operator of the Auto Shop in Powhatan Point. He was a 1990 Union Local High School graduate and a member of the Morristown Christian Church.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a brother, William E. Bumgardner Jr.; maternal grandfather, William Reed; paternal grandparents, William and Verna Bumgardner.
Surviving are his mother, Joyce Johnston and stepfather, David Johnston; his maternal grandmother, Helen Reed all of Pancoast Road, Belmont; his companion, Jennifer Quinlin Fulton; two daughters, Elizabeth Bumgardner of Barnesville and Sarah Bumgardner of Powhatan Point; a sister, Tina Bamberger of Wheeling Island; a nephew Jesse Ruskin; a niece Rylea Bamberger; and his best friend, Chance.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 5 to 9 p.m. at the Toothman Funeral Home in St. Clairsville, where services will be held on Thursday at 1 p.m. with Rev. Curtis Hallstrom officiating. Burial will follow in Union Cemetery, St. Clairsville.
