David Hartley Barnes, 81, of Willow Grove Road, Bellaire, OH passed away on Friday, June 3, 2022 at his home.  He was born April 23, 1941 in Bellaire, a son of the late Joseph Phillip Barnes and E. Loure Lamp Barnes.

Dave was retired from Sam's Club and a former coal miner with North American Coal Company # 4 mine in Clarington, OH.  He was a man who never knew a stranger.  He loved family gatherings and good food.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Dale R. Barnes.

Surviving are his loving wife of 61 years, Sandra S. Middaugh Barnes; proud father of David (Colleen) Barnes, Denise Barnes Crawford and Dawn (Stan) Shelton; 10 grandchildren, Amy (Andy) Wright, Amanda (Heather) Barnes, Kyle (Rachael) Barnes, Chaz (Heather) Howell, Nyckie (Stephen) Klan, Jacob, Josh, Jerod, Zach and Madelyn; 10 great-grandchildren; Ryley, MaKenna, Colton, Camdyn, Clayton, KayDee, Brady, Robbie, Christopher, Jacob; siblings, Don (Kathie) Barnes, Dan (Debbie) Barnes, Diana (Randy) Barack, Debbie Barnes, Doris Starkey; a sister-in-law, Doris Barnes;

Friends will be received on Wednesday from 4-8 pm at Toothman Funeral Home, St. Clairsville with funeral services on Thursday at 10 am with Andy Robinson officiating.  Burial will follow in Union Cemetery, St. Clairsville.

He will be sadly missed by his family and friends, aunts, uncles, cousins and many nieces and nephews.
