David "Dave" Brooks, 85 of Dover Church Road, Jacobsburg, Ohio died Monday, March 5, 2007 at his home.

He was born at Jacobsburg on September 9, 1921 a son of the late Sherman and Gertrude Harlan Brooks.

Dave was a farmer and a retired employee of the Belmont County Engineer?s Department, an Army veteran of World War II and a member of American Legion Post #52 at Bellaire.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by brothers Lawrence Brooks and Walter Brooks and sisters Audrey Stillion, Mildred Rushin and Norma Peel.

He is survived by brothers Raymond Brooks and Bob Brooks both of Jacobsburg; sisters Edna Warren of Canton, Ohio and Ethel Rushin of Barnesville, several nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received at the Toothman Funeral Home, Jacobsburg on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. where services will be held Thursday at 1:00 p.m.. Burial will follow in the Armstrong Cemetery, Armstrongs Mills, Ohio.

Belmont County Council of the American Legion will conduct military services Thursday at 12:45 p.m. in the funeral home.
