Darlene Cecelia Grimes Ledger, 63, of Wheeling, West Virginia, died June 11, 2024, at Rolling Hills Nursing Home in Bridgeport, Ohio.

She was born May 15, 1961, in Martins Ferry, Ohio, a daughter of the late Cecil Grimes and Louise M. Straub Grimes Frazier.

Darlene was a retired rural mail carrier with the United States Postal Service in St. Clairsville, she was a bartender at the St. Clairsville Eagles and previously worked at the Holiday Inn in St. Clairsville. She was a member of the Relevant Worship Center in St. Clairsville. A graduate of St. John's High School in Bellaire, Darlene went to Wheeling Jesuit College to further her education.  Darlene was an avid bowler and loved her animals.

Darlene is survived by her son, Brian (Kristi Kirkpatrick) Ware of St. Clairsville; two grandchildren, Brax and Mila Ware; her companion, Russ Easley; a sister, Gail Grimes of Bethlehem, West Virginia; a nephew, Chad Grimes; and a niece Amy Baker.

Family and friends will be received on Monday from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Toothman Funeral Home in St. Clairsville, Ohio, where services will be held on Tuesday at 11 a.m. with Pastor Mark Zelewizc officiating. Burial will follow in Union Cemetery, St. Clairsville.
