Tipton, Damon "Larry", 70 of St. Clairsville, Ohio died Thursday, November 25, 2010 at Ohio Valley Medical Center in Wheeling.

He was born August 9, 1940 in Stewartsville, Ohio, son of Arlie M. Bumgardner Tipton McMahon and the late Daymond Edgar Tipton.

Larry was a retired electrician from Hopedale Mining, a protestant, U.S. Navy veteran, member and Past Master of Belmont Lodge # 16 F&AM in St. Clairsville, member Bridgeport Chapter # 452 Order of Eastern Star, Scottish Rite Valley of Steubenville and the NRA.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his step-father, Harry McMahon.

Surviving in addition to his mother of Neffs, are his wife Maggie Bobak Tipton; two children, Daymond Larry (Lori) Tipton and Heidi (Brent) Matis both of St. Clairsville; two brothers, Lyle Tipton of Bellaire, and Dwight Tipton of Florida; 4 grandchildren, Cody, Trenton, and Jace Tipton, and Garret Matis.

Friends will be received at Toothman Funeral Home in St. Clairsville on Saturday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Sunday 2 to 4 & 6 to 8 p.m. where services will be held on Monday at 1 p.m. with Robert Zimmerman officiating. Burial follows in Union Cemetery, St. Clairsville.
