Dale Otto Schrope, 77, of Belmont, Ohio died December 6, 2019 in Wheeling Hospital.

He was born October 20, 1942 in Hegins, Pennsylvania, son of the late Ned and Annetta Otto Schrope.

Dale was a retired corrections officer from SCI at Rockview, Bellefonte, PA, he was a former television repairman having worked independently and for Miller's Appliance in Mill Hall, PA and he had worked for Piper Aircraft in Lock Haven, PA. He was a U.S. Navy veteran and loved the outdoors especially hunting and fishing.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Donald Schrope.

Surviving are his loving wife, Sally Elston Schrope; three sons, Kirby D. (Nancy) Schrope, Eric B. (Kim) Schrope and Christopher E. (Deanna) Schrope; five grandchildren, Cassandra Schrope, Blake Schrope, Nathaniel Schrope, Owen Schrope and Isaac Schrope; a great grandson Cameron Schrope and ex-wife, Gail Dallen.

Family and friends will be received at Toothman Funeral Home in St. Clairsville on Wednesday from 4 p.m. until time of service at 6 p.m. with Rev. Tom Jones officiating.  Full Military Honors will be conducted by the Belmont County Veterans Association.
