Dale Edison Caldwell, 90 of Clover Ridge, Powhatan Point, Ohio died Thursday, February 11, 2021 at Reynolds Memorial Hospital in Glen Dale, WV.
He was born at Clover Ridge on December 13, 1930, a son of the late Hobart Caldwell and Lottie Kocher Caldwell.
Dale was a retired 35 year employee of Ormet Corporation and a farmer. He was a member of Beallsville Church of Christ and also attended East Sunsbury Baptist Church. He was a member of Sunsbury Lodge # 362 F&AM in Beallsville, and an avid Ohio State Buckeye's fan, a great fan of the Pittsburgh Pirates, and a supporter of all Beallsville Blue Devil's sports. He was Captain of the first Beallsville High School Football Team. He enjoyed watching his grandchildren and great grandchildren play their sports as well. He loved to hunt, fish, and garden and especially enjoyed raising potatoes.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Lester and Amos Caldwell.
Surviving are his wife, Carolyn Joan Hamilton Caldwell; a son, Randy Dale (Lori) Caldwell of Powhatan Point; a daughter, Marla Renee (Ron) Akridge of Leadville, Colorado; grandchildren, Luke (Stephanie) Caldwell, Rhea (Vince) Pittman, Bethany (Jason Bischof) Caldwell; great grandchildren, Gracee and Kalisha Caldwell, Emmalynn and Ian Pittman.
Friends will be received at Toothman Funeral Home in Jacobsburg on Saturday from 2 to 7 p.m. and on Sunday from 1 p.m. until time of service at 2 p.m. with Randy Caldwell and Jeff Horner officiating. A private committal service will be held in Powhatan Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
