Obituary

Dale Thomas Bonnett, Sr., 82 of Belmont, Ohio died Friday, October 24, 2014 at his home.

He was born March 18, 1932 in Weston, WV., a son of the late Argyl Earl Bonnett and Hila Lee Fisher Bonnett.

Dale was retired OSU Agricultural Extension Agent for Belmont County, a former WVU Extension Agent for Wetzel County, WV., a member of Belmont United Methodist Church, member and past president of the Belmont Bethesda Morristown Rotary Club, member of New Martinsville Masonic Lodge.

He was a loving husband, father, and pap pap and was adored by his granddaughters, he was an avid Buckeye fan, and a creative handyman.

Among his many other accomplishments, Dale was a graduate of WVU, founder of Wetzel County Town and Country Day, co-founder of the Belmont County Rubberneck Tour, past Annual East Ohio Conference Delegate for the United Methodist Church, a former chairman and active member of many other church and community organizations.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Robert & Charles Bonnett; a sister, Virginia Vermillion.

Surviving are his wife, Anna May Potts Bonnett; three children, Elizabeth Ann Diaz of Belmont, Martha Lee Hester of Columbus, Ohio, and Dale Thomas (Chris) Bonnett II of Belmont; sister, Katherine Stoneking of Ewing, NJ; brother, Richard (Mary Lou) Bonnett of Weston, WV; four granddaughters, Jessica May Diaz of Belmont, Georgia Leeanne Hester and Lindsay Dayle Hester of Columbus, and Sarah Marie Bonnett of Belmont.

Friends will be received at Toothman Funeral Home in St. Clairsville on Tuesday from 2 to 8 p.m. where services will be held on Wednesday at 2 p.m. with Rev. Theresa Bobot and Rev. Charles Tobias officiating. Burial follows in Belmont Cemetery.
