Curtis E. Johnson, age 54, of Newark, Ohio formerly of St. Clairsville, Ohio, died Thursday, May 4, 2006. He was born on May 6, 1951 in War, West Virginia, son of the late Habron Johnson Sr. and Gladys Courts Stewart Johnson.
He was an employee of Strum Engineering. Curtis was a member of Trinity A.M.E. Church in Newark and former member of Wayman A.M.E. Church in Wheeling. He was a graduate of West Virginia State University.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Lucy Johnson and a brother, Habron Johnson Jr.
Surviving are his former wife, Jennifer Snead Johnson of St. Clairsville; two sons, Arthur W. Johnson and Joshua L. Johnson both of St. Clairsville; three sisters, Jeanette Richardson and Edith Stewart both of Georgia and Brenda Slade of New Jersey; six brothers, Aaron Stewart, Robert Stewart and Floyd Stewart all of New York, William Johnson, Albert Johnson and Tyrone Johnson all in West Virginia; many nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will be received at Toothman Funeral Home in St. Clairsville, Ohio on Wednesday from 6 to 9 p.m. There will also be visitation on Thursday at Wayman A.M.E. Church, 1136 Eoff St., Wheeling from 11 a.m. until time of service at 12 Noon, with Rev. John E. Stephens officiating. Burial will follow at Holly Memorial Gardens, Pleasant Grove, Ohio.
