Clesson F. Swallie, 74, of Belmont, Ohio, died July 30, 2016 in Astoria Place of Barnesville.
He was born in Boston, Ohio on May 2, 1942, son of the late Leroy and Golda Huntsman Swallie.
Clesson was a former coal miner and former employee of Watt Car and Wheel in Barnesville and the Cadiz Tool and Machine Shop. He enjoyed hunting and Fishing and was a member of Seneca Sportsman's Club.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Lowell Swallie; five sisters, Sharon Clark, Pauline Milhoan, Luella Howell, Dorothy Gray and Mary Smithberger and four brothers, Derward, James Floyd, Ronald and Donald Swallie.
Clesson is survived by his wife, Karen Kinney Swallie; three children, Lori (Tim) Lucas of Belmont, Roy Swallie of Belmont and Kevin Swallie of Glencoe; two brothers, Jim and Richard Swallie of Barnesville; a sister, Dauline Tubaugh of Ravenna; ten grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will be received at the Toothman Funeral Home in St. Clairsville on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm, where services will be held on Thursday at 11 a.m., with Rev. Ed Emory officiating. Burial will follow in Ebenezer Cemetery, Bethesda, Ohio.
