Clara Bell Pyles, 93, of St. Clairsville, Ohio died December 25, 2020 at Continuing Healthcare at Forest Hill.

She was born August 25, 1927 in Flushing, Ohio a daughter of the late Donald and Jesse Wiley Thompson.

Clara was a loving mother and grandmother. She enjoyed gardening and her family.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harry L. Pyles; a son, Paul E. Pyles; a daughter, Betty Pyles; a grandson, Scott Pyles; a step grandson, Harold J. Gordon; a brother, Albert Thompson; a sister, Mildred May; and four sons-in-law, David Adams, Harold E. Gordon, Alfred Hennebert and Fred Romel.

Surviving are her eight children, Shirley Hennebert, Harry J. Pyles, Ruth Gordon, Mary Romel, James Allen Pyles, John Pyles Sr., Karen Usenick and Jo Marie Adams; 21 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; several great-great grandchildren.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, social distancing and facial coverings are required for the public visitation on Wednesday 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Toothman Funeral Home in St. Clairsville.

Private Funeral Service will be held for the family with Andrew Thompson officiating and burial will be in Union Cemetery in Morristown.
