Clara M. Piper, age 90, of Bannock, Ohio, died July 17, 2007 at Wheeling Hospital.
She was born June 13, 1917 in Lafferty, Ohio, daughter of the late Paul and Anna Piewanski Jozwiak.
Clara was a retired matron from the Belmont County Court House in St. Clairsville. She was a member of the St. Mary?s Catholic Church in Lafferty and a member of the Polish Club in Fairpoint.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Kenneth Piper; five brothers, Leo, Theodore, Frank, John and Harry Jozwiak; a sister, Martha Sebulski; and two grandsons, Frank Mistak Jr. and Mark Kuhn.
Surviving are two daughters, Nancy (Frank) Mistak of Lafferty and Peggy (Martin) Kuhn of Bannock; two sons, James (Christine) Piper of Richmond, Virginia and Richard (Marjorie) Piper of Utica, New York; 22 grandchildren; 50 great grandchildren and 11 great great grandchildren.
Family and friends will be received at the Toothman Funeral Home in St. Clairsville on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., with a Vigil Service at 3:45 p.m. Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be celebrated at St. Mary's Church in Lafferty on Saturday at 9:30 a.m. with Father Thomas Hamm the celebrant. Burial will follow in Union Cemetery, St. Clairsville.
