Obituary

Clara "Cindy" Lucille Carle, Age 82, passed away peacefully on January 16 th, 2025, in Newbury Township, Ohio.

Cindy was born a much-loved only child to James and Ruth DeLong on June 1st, 1942, in Kokomo, Indiana. She moved to Biloxi, Mississippi with her parents when she was a young child, where she was surrounded by many relatives. She made lots of happy memories with her cousins and family on the beautiful beaches of Biloxi. After high school, she entered Charity Hospital School of Nursing at age 16 in New Orleans, Louisiana. While in training at Charity, she met her future husband, Arthur Carle, and after a whirlwind romance they married on March 11th, 1964. They were married for 61 years. For over 40 years, she continued her nursing career in Obstetrics, and later Psychiatry. During this time, she and Arthur welcomed three wonderful children, Kelli, Kim, and Keith to their family.

Cindy was known for her wit, humor, warmth, and kindness, bringing joy to everyone she met. She was the life of every gathering, her laughter and zest for life bringing a contagious energy. Known for her playful spirit and love for making others laugh, she had an innate ability to turn ordinary moments into unforgettable memories. Her fun-loving nature made her a joy to be around. She was also known for her incredible generosity, always giving selflessly to friends, family, and even strangers.

She cherished her roles as a devoted wife, mother and grandmother, sharing many adventures and moments of happiness with her family. As a dear friend, her caring nature and thoughtfulness left a mark on all whose lives she touched. She also adored her dogs, finding great happiness in their companionship. Cindy enjoyed shopping, traveling, and spending time with her loved ones. Her spirit will continue to inspire and uplift those who were fortunate enough to know her. She will be deeply missed and forever loved.

Cindy is survived by her husband, Arthur Carle (St. Clairsville, Ohio); her daughter, Kelli (Mark) Schuerman (Parker, Colorado); her daughter, Kim Cerullo (Euclid, Ohio); her son Keith (Amy) Carle (Utica, Ohio), and her three beautiful grandchildren Taylor Schuerman (21), Brady Schuerman (19), and Rachel Cerullo (19).

There will be a Celebration of Life Honoring Cindy Carle that will be held on Saturday September 27, 2025, with a visitation period from 11:30 until time of service at 1:00 p.m. at the Toothman Funeral Home in St. Clairsville, Ohio. There will be a committal service following at Union Cemetery in St. Clairsville.

Cindy's happiness, generosity, and zest for life left a lasting imprint on everyone she met. This gathering will be a time to share stories, laughter, and memories that reflect the beautiful soul she was. All are welcome to attend and honor Cindy's remarkable life.
