Charles Edward Wilke, 88, of Bridgeport, OH., formerly of Martins Ferry, OH passed away on Friday, December 23, 2022, at East Ohio Regional Hospital, Martins Ferry.  He was born January 8, 1934, in Wheeling, WV, a son of the late Edward and Anna Grove Wilke.

Charles was a retired truck Driver for Eazor Trucking Company and a supervisor at Wheeling Island Gaming.  He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict.

Charles loved to watch his grandchildren play ball for the Bellaire Big Reds.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Shirley Ann Wilke; two sisters, Mary Ann LaRuffo and Shirley Ehler.

Surviving are his loving wife, Dolores Carter Wilke of Bridgeport; his children, Sondra Shrieve of Martins Ferry, Rhonda (Doug) Lendon and Charlotte (Gerald) Bruce both of Bellaire, OH; siblings, Ronald (Linda) Wilke of Quaker City, OH., Beverly Handley and Christina (John) Kovalchie both of Wheeling; six grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren.

Family and friends will be received on Thursday, Dec. 29th from 2-4 & 6-8 pm at Toothman Funeral Home, St. Clairsville with funeral services on Friday, Dec. 30th at 11 am with Ronald Wilke officiating.  Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery, Wheeling.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
