Obituary

Charles S. Taylor, age 85, of Shadyside , Ohio died Tuesday, April 13, 2004 at Belmont Community Hospital , Bellaire , Ohio . He was born May 9, 1918 at Key, Ohio , son of the late Herman J. and Lucy McKelvey Taylor.

He was a retired U. S. Navy Captain serving during World War II and the Korean War. Charles was a former employee of the Village of Shadyside and the former Belmont Casket Company at Shadyside; he was a member of the First Presbyterian Church at Shadyside and a member of Shadyside Lodge # 724 F. & A.M. at Shadyside

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Alma Montgomery and Laura Decker; and four brothers, Robert, William, George and E. Frazier Taylor.

Surviving are his wife, Kathleen I. Thomson Taylor; a son, Charles Taylor of Yellow Springs, Ohio; a daughter, Suzanne Tolarchyk of Hillsborough, N.C.; a sister, Mary Brown Webber of Key, Ohio; a brother, Herbert Lee Taylor of Key, Ohio; two grandchildren; and four great grandchildren.

The Taylor family will receive friends on Friday from 1:30 p.m. until time of Memorial Services at 2:00 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church at Shadyside with Pastor Alice Phillips officiating.
